The future is just arriving!
The newest and most brilliant aerobatic kit plane !!
The Corvus Crusader is introduced to Britain by
Brian and Brenden Mills.

This family has been in the aircraft business near Cambridge for 40 years. Brian held Easa Part 66 and UK CAA BCAR aircraft licences and a CAA Licensed Engine overhaul shop for the past 25 years. Brenden is a Commercial Pilot in British Airways fleet..and a training officer too...having held a 'command' at just 23 years old !

The 'Crusader' aircraft is amazing...a side by side two seat kit plane that can use four different engine types...can operate in three different all up weight categories with a version that is fully Aerobatic.....what more could you ask for ???

Question !! How long to complete the build of this kit-plane........ Answer !! if you work fast.....just a month !!

Allow three months from delivery of all the components and you could be in the air with help of the PFA.

No longer sacrificing many long cold evenings in the garage.......and six years of riveting structures....What a relief !! Plastic is here to stay !!

The demonstrator aircraft that Brian is constructing will have the 100hp Sauer 'Saturn' engine with direct drive propeller...no reduction drive is necessary. The Crusader is furnished with a 'glass cockpit' instrument panel containing a 'Dynon EFIS' and an AVMAP integrated GPS, each with 7-inch screens. Avionics will consist of an intercom, Narco 12D Communications Transceiver, VOR with glideslope indicator and transponder.
Optional analogue ASI and altimeter can be mounted together with any other ancillary instruments required on the panel.
The Crusader Kit will soon be available for a modest price excluding the instruments, avionics, propeller and engine but it is not the cheapest kit. You cannot have the cheapest and the best in the same package !!
The non-aerobatic kit will sell for £39,000 exclusive of VAT...so get registered !! and in 3 months you will have a beautiful aircraft!! What a relief! Now bearing in mind it can be certified as a VLA aircraft, a Light aircraft and also an Aerobatic version that is designed to Plus 8g and Minus 3g (for an additional £10,000+VAT). The decision as to which engine is utilised is left to the kit builder: Brian is recommending a Direct drive 100 or 126hp 2.5 litre engine which will consume just 3 to 4 gallons of fuel per hour.

The Engine being fitted at present is a horizontally-opposed four cylinder four-stroke European engine wholly redesigned with new crankshaft and new high-lift camshaft utilising hydraulic tappets, a capacity of 2.5 litre and with direct drive to the propeller.

The fully aerobatic aircraft initially will use the fuel injected Lycoming IO-360...at a higher price and moderate fuel consumption.

Brian's company, Mercury Aero Engines, can offer the best engines available.

Watch this space for more information as the Crusader takes to the air in Britain.
